Less angst, more ease
Why is the act of writing often uncomfortable?
How come the ideas and sentences we form mentally are clearer than what comes out on paper?
Can writing become easier, less painful --- can it become joyful, habitual, natural?
Why do we put off what we say we want to do?

Hundreds of writers and would-be writers, in all genres, who have taken Crescent Dragonwagon's Fearless Writing course, know the answers to these questions --- know not just through abstract belief but by the direct experience they've had in session. In the process, they discover that they to love what they have to do, or want to do, or have always secretly done --- write.

"Inspiring, original, and enormous fun. Crescent Dragonwagon's Fearless Writing made me want to get right back to work, without a moment's delay. I loved it, and  recommend it often to writers and editors. "

Fearless Writing™ is offered in many formats --- from a weeklong course to a two-hour seminar, over an extended weekend or as a daily part of a larger conference. By the end of the sessions you will not be without fear: but you will literally "fear less" --- you will have learned to tolerate the anxiety which is an inherent part of the creative processYou'll come more easily into "flow", and not only become a better writer, but better at any creative endeavor you chose, whether artistic, entrepreneurial, or relational... and you'll be more relaxed every step of the way.
As Mark Twain said, "Courage is mastery of fear, not absence of fear." That is the courage Fearless graduates can claim, and utilize... forever.
What happens at a Fearless?

In this participatory workshop, both seasoned professionals and inexperienced amateurs learn the answers to questions about the art, craft, habits, and practice of writing.

Extensive writing takes place during sessions; reading out loud is encouraged, but optional. CD's informal lectures take place between writing "assignments." It's an immersion workshop. Though CD varies the format to fit the particular group's need, it's often about 26 hours of teaching, writing, and participating over a period of two evenings and two full days.

Only a small amount of time is spent on the how-to's of publication; Fearless Writing is largely oriented towards the practice of writing more effectively and easily... to hit the accelerator without yanking on the emergency brake at the same time.
What Crescent knows about writing fearlessly...
“So beautifully written...a direct and logical result of a life lived richly and fully ...a cookbook seasoned with story: the story of food memories, love and loss, joy and renewal.”

PASSIONATE VEGETARIAN
CD has written over 40 published books and countless magazine article, in many genres. Her writing for adults includes novels (THE YEAR IT RAINED, a New York Times Notable Book), and non-fiction (PASSIONATE VEGETARIAN, a James Beard Award winner). Her many children's books include HALF A MOON AND ONE WHOLE STAR, a Coretta Scott King Award-winner and Reading Rainbow selection, and ALWAYS, ALWAYS, a Social Sciences Book of the Year.
But, she says, "The best part of writing is writing."
And why she can teach you
"The power of Fearless lasts, unlike most workshops' typical sleight of hand: you get it until you get home, then old habits and inhibitions resume. I've remained fired up, inspired, armed with the tools and practice, in touch with what I know.

"I've asked myself many times, How did she do it? Not once did we hear about CD's accomplishments. Instead, she listened, responded, made us see for ourselves what worked and didn't, and immersed us in the process. Gentle guidance; dramatic impact."

--- Crow Johnson, singer-songwriter, winner of the Spirit of Kerrville Award
